In 1968 (the 57th year of the Republic of China), the government fully implemented the Nine-Year Compulsory Education Program. In response, our school was established to provide local young students with the opportunity to continue their education smoothly after graduating from elementary school. On December 25, 2011, following the merger of Tainan County and Tainan City, the school was restructured as Tainan Municipal Jiangjun Junior High School.
At the school’s founding, the Taiwan Provincial Government appointed Mr. Sun Ming-De as the first principal. During his nearly six years of service, Principal Sun laid a solid foundation for the school’s development and achieved significant progress.
The land for the school was initially purchased by Jiangjun Township. After several expansions, the campus now covers an area of 4.6 hectares, making it one of the largest junior high school campuses in Tainan City.
The succession of principals—Mr. Sun Ming-De, Mr. Li Yang-Chun, Mr. Liang Zong-Li, Mr. Zheng He-Mu, Mr. Zhou Ji-Shan, Mr. Xie Mao-Shui, Mr. Zheng Song-Jiang, Mr. Jiang Jun-Xian, Mr. Huang Jian-Kai, Mr. Zheng Jun-Jie, and the current principal, Mr. Xie Yuan-Ru—have all upheld the fine traditions of the school. They have actively promoted academic competitions, character education, moral education, civic education, and campus greening and beautification. They also facilitated the construction of basketball and tennis courts, enriched the library collection, strengthened ties with local educators, secured funding for both hardware and software facilities, and raised funds to build a splendid student activity center. These efforts have greatly enhanced the quality of education and community cultural functions, while cultivating the school’s excellent, honest, and simple ethos.
In August 2020, Principal Zheng Jun-Jie was transferred to Nanxi Junior High School. Mr. Xie Yuan-Ru then assumed office as the current principal. He has since been devoted to creating a new vision for the school, emphasizing health and happiness, initiative and broad-mindedness, efficiency and innovation, while encouraging students to excel and shine in various fields.
Since its establishment, under the leadership of education authorities, the strong support of the local community, the dedication of successive principals, and the united efforts of the faculty and students, the school has consistently achieved remarkable accomplishments.
