The school was founded in 1968 and was originally named Jiangjun Junior High School. It later adopted its current name following the merger of Tainan County and Tainan City.
Located in Jiangjun District, it is located in a flat, salt-rich area with Provincial Highways 17 and 61 passing to the west.
