行政院環境保護署(以下簡稱環保署)於 105 年 12 月 1 日起整合原有空氣污染指標(PSI)及細懸浮微粒(PM2.5)雙指標(原均分為綠、黃、紅、紫 4 種狀態色塊)，參考美國改採單一指標「空氣品質指標(AQI)」，分為綠、黃、橘、紅、紫、褐紅 6 色(空氣品質旗幟將調整為綠、黃、橘、紅、紫 5 色，增加橘色 1 色)。
