1.The primary goal of this international competition is to elevate the mathematical proficiency of domestic students, fostering a connection with global mathematics standards, and identifying exceptional talent.
2.To ensure a level playing field, all exam questions will be in English. Participants are permitted to use a physical English dictionary or a single A4-sized vocabulary list as a reference.
The Winter Round of the 2024-2025 Mathematics Without Borders International Tournament (MWBIT)
- Registration Period: Registration is open now and will close on January 20.
- Exam Date: Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
- Registration and entry will begin at 13:45. Detailed information will be announced before the exam. (If the number of applicants is excessive, there may be a division into two sessions, with the second session from 15:20 to 16:20. Please refer to the pre-exam announcement for details.)
- Exam Locations:
- In-person exams will be held in physical test centers located in Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, and Kaohsiung.
- Online exam centers will be provided for students residing in counties not listed above, as well as eastern and outlying islands.
- Exam Venue Information:
- Specific exam venue information will be provided in the pre-exam notification.
- Eligible Participants: Grades 1 to 12 (based on birth year, grade skipping is allowed).
- Exam Format:
- Exam duration: 60 minutes. In case of a tie, the earlier the submission, the higher the ranking.
- Question type: 20 fill-in-the-blank questions.
- Scoring: 2 points for each correct answer, 1 point for partially correct answers, and 0 points for incorrect or blank answers. Total score is 40 points.
- Language: English exam (paper-based English dictionaries or a single A4-sized vocabulary list are allowed, but the exam time remains unchanged).
